Step 1: Open the App & Select Load Wallet
To begin, open the Stack app on your mobile device. Once the app is open, select Load Wallet from the available options. This section of the app is where you will start the process of preparing your transaction before visiting the store.
Step 2: Choose Your Store Location
After selecting Load Wallet, choose the location closest to you. The app will show nearby locations so you can pick the most convenient Walmart store for your visit.
Step 3: Enter Amount & Select Cryptocurrency
Next, you will then be asked to enter the amount you wish to buy. This allows you to decide exactly how much you want to convert during your visit.
Once you’ve entered the amount, select the cryptocurrency you wish to purchase. The app will present the available options, allowing you to choose the asset you want loaded into your wallet.
After making your selection, tap Continue to move forward.
Step 4: Choose Delivery Method & Enter Wallet Address
At this stage, you will choose how your transaction is delivered by selecting either On-Chain or Lightning Network. The On-Chain option sends the transaction directly to the blockchain, while Lightning Network is designed for faster transfers using the Lightning payment network and is a little cheaper.
Next, paste in the wallet address you wish to load with bitcoin. This ensures the transaction is sent directly to your wallet once the payment is completed.
After entering your wallet address, click Continue.
Step 5: Save Wallet for Future Use (Optional)
You will then be asked to select if you wish to save the wallet or not. Saving the wallet can make future transactions faster by avoiding the need to re-enter the address.
Step 6: Review & Confirm Transaction
Once you’ve made that selection, confirm the information and select Continue. This step allows you to review all details before finalizing the setup.
Step 7: Generate Your Barcode
At this point, Stack will generate you a barcode. This barcode is what the Walmart employee will scan to process your transaction.
Step 8: Go to the Store & Complete Payment
With your barcode ready, travel to the selected location you chose earlier in the app.
When you arrive at Walmart, go to the money services or customer service desk. These counters handle the transactions associated with loading your wallet.
Once you reach the counter, have the employee scan the barcode displayed in your Stack app.
After the barcode is scanned, pay the total amount requested by the cashier. This completes the payment portion of the process.
Step 9: Receive Your Bitcoin
Finally, wait for bitcoin to land in your wallet. Once the transaction is processed, your purchase will be sent to the wallet address you provided earlier.
Step 10: Transaction Complete
